Folks, pilots, corpmates
Thanks to all who joined our last fleet on monday night: it was very fun and we had good success: 11 kills no looses. We got 2 cruisers (Vexor - Thorax) and all of us were in small hulls. Nice.
We had not much mercy for a Velator noob... but someone had to teach him that low sec it may be dangerous. :)
See you guys at the next fleet. You can check the date and time on your Eve calendar.

Eve ghost sites
With the new Rubicon Eve expansion explorers will have more treasures to find. CCP introduced in the Eve universe the ghost sites. Rare exploration sites that will drop valuable loot. Here an overview what intrepid explorers may find:
Ghost sites - More fortified than previously discovered facilities, Ghost Sites harbor multiple tiers of security to keep out the uninvited. The Ghost Sites are armed to keep you out and the Empires have issued warnings for you to stay away. For the EVE pilot, that combination means only one thing - relentlessly scan them down and tear your way in.
Arriving at a Ghost Site triggers a hidden timer. Failure to hack your way in before the timer ends results in an alert going out to the site's owners, summoning a well-armed security fleet to engage you and your team.
The sites themselves consist of a series of four secure systems. Each of the systems must be hacked through and disabled successfully in order to access the items inside. Failure to hack any one of the four will trigger a security system, and the facility will do whatever is necessary to protect its contents.
Ghost Sites are rare finds, but they can be discovered across all regions of space including Empire, nullsec and wormhole space, each tier offering a different level of challenge from the others.
Unique rewards -
The pirate factions have been using these covert research facilities to develop warp-enhancing implants to aid them in their attacks. Among the treasures hidden within these heavily-guarded vaults are the blueprints and materials that you can use to manufacture them, stealing away their planned advantage and possibly making a good deal of ISK in the process.

New exploration ships. Are u ready to fly them?
With the new Rubicon expansion coming on 19 of November we will have in Eve two new exploration ships: a frigate and a cruiser hull. Designed with long-term exploration in mind, the new ships merge some of the best aspects of Gallente and Amarr ship design. They will be accessible through market and LP points from the Npc corp SISTER OF EVE.
As expected, the ship will gain bonuses from both the Gallente and Amarr frigate or cruiser skills. They'll have huge drone bays to allow them to function for a long time without resupplying, and will get drone damage and armour resistance bonuses to make them able to deal with combat exploration sites and low-class wormhole anomalies. In keeping with the exploration theme, both ships will also get role bonuses to hacking modules and scanner probes, and both will be able to fit covert ops cloaking devices!
Here some info about the new ships ASTERO and STRATIOS:
“Astero” Frigate
Features:
100% reduction in CPU requirements for Cloaking
Covert Ops Cloaking capable
Scanning and Hacking bonuses
Large capacity drone bay and bonus to drone hitpoints
Slot layout: 2 High / 4 Mid / 4 Low; 2 turret hardpoints.
“Stratios” Cruiser
Features:
Reduced Energy Turret capacitor usage
Scanning and Hacking bonuses
Covert Ops Cloaking capable
Large bandwidth/capacity drone bay
Bonus to drone hitpoints and damage
Slot layout: 5 High / 5 Mid / 5 Low; 4 turret hardpoints

Ratting in Pain
Is not so safe to rat in low sec, expecially if u move to asteroid belt in asteroid belt flying a shiny Drake Navy Issue. You risk to finish your bad day in "Pain", and find yourself in a Pod. Here is the results of a lonly ratter... and his bad fitting.

Exploring Null sec, avoiding bubbles and coming back with a full cargo
We have organized a very nice trip in the deep null sec. We have moved to the extreme edge of the map, in the north west direction, making dozen jumps from low sec to null.
The first jumps has been quite stressed due to many pilots in local and bubbles set around the stargates, then when we have managed to reach deep null and local was mostly empty. So we started to scan and harvest rare data and relic sites..
Member of expedition: Sybian Silk Silk (Rifter) Zev Ious (Anathema) and Mark Yanning (Helios).
Here some pics of our adventures.

Wormhole C3 operation
I was analysing the system when my probes find out a wormhole. I went there to check it and I realized it was a C3 class with an agility/speed bonus. Then I decided to look inside with my Helios and I managed to see how inside was very quite; no control towers active around and plenty of sites to harvest. In few minutes we decided to organize a fleet with our friend/ally of True Slave Foundation and get inside to "farm" the wh. Two Osprey, two Talos, one Drake and one Noctis went inside.
The operation was a success: we have completed 7-8 anomalies in 1 hour, looting quick with the Noctis and gaining a total of almost 330 million. Well done, a good loot to share. Here other pics of our adventure.

The huge Eve map
Living just in high sec, in your first months of Eve, you can't imagine
which kind of huge size world can be around you. High sec is just a
small part of Eve, then there are thousands of systems in low, huge
alliances in null sec. To give you an idea of the New Eden deepness just take a look at the last map.

Second Zeura Tourney. Frig 1vs1. 26 of April at 18:30 Eve Time
A previous Zeura tourney |
We are going to organize the “Second Zeura frigates tournament”.
The prize for the winner is Frigate Navy Issue (the winner will choose which one), plus a special medal awarded to the bravest pilot, the only one that will survive to the fights. To be in the tourney pilot has just to make a payment fee of 1 million at "Zeura Brotherood" with reason payment “Tourney fee”. We need it to see how many we are and organize the rounds.
When: The Tournament is schedule for Friday, Aril 26. We’ll meet at 18:30 Eve time. Combat will begin at 19:00. The combat ring will be in Pain, Placid region (Low sec). Any combat outside the ring is forbidden during the tourney time.
How. Here is the tournament formula and rules.
- Everybody can fly only just a tech I frigate. No faction frigs. **Everybody has to prepare two frigs for the tourney, ready to fight in chase of "double" rounds. The two frigates can be different and have different fitting.
- Pilots can fit only tech I modules, with any meta level. Is admitted only tech 1 ammos, drones (no faction ammos). Is admitted just tech 1 rigs.
- After a round the winner is admitted to dock just to refill ammos, repair the armor, hull and modules damaged. Is admitted to change a module just if it is completely broken. You can change it with one of the same type.
- Every pilot will fight in 1vs1 match formula. With eliminatory rounds. The winner of every round will go forward in the tourney. Until we have 2 pilots for the final.
- Fights will be until death. Victory is achieved by the pilot who blow enemy ship. Pod killing is forbidden.
- Every round of the tournament will be fight at a safe spot, the fighters will be called at the right
time from the judge to warp to him. Pilots can decide at which range warp to the judge between 0 to 30 km.
- Then the judge will target both ships, will control them modules scanning. And finally, he will give the signal to start the fight (typing on chat first “ready?”, then “go”). The fighter can’t go more than 100 km away from the judge, otherwise he will be disqualified. If pilot will start shooting before the signal of the judge, he will be disqualified.
- The fight will be broadcast on an online channel
- Other fighters should wait to the call docked in Core Complexion, in Pain. Or just outside the station.
- If participants of the tourney will shoot other ships in the tourney time, outside of the battlefield, then they will be disqualified.
Medal for the winner |

Wormhole adventure
We are hunters of treasures and rare systems. Our last adventure started in low sec when one of us scanned a Wormhole. I went there checking and discovering it was a C1 class. At a first sight J103151 appeared without residents, with plenty of anomalies and signals. Then, I decided, just with my Myrmidon, to remain inside for a while and get as much as I could, dealing with sleepers. Meantime Perfecto, a new explorer member of Zeura, decided to join me in a shiny Ishtar.
Perfecto Ignori, Zeura explorer |
Then, we found an exit to low sec. Fuzzbump reached us coming in piloting a Legion, but due to the unknown presences we decided to retire at home. We jumped in the Wh leading in low sec finding our self 30 jumps away from home. We did the low sec route with the cargo full of treasures and we managed to reach high sec and then a main market hub, Dodixie. We sold items for a total value of almost 450 million. We did it.

“That was so awesome!” Sebastian burst out as soon as he realized it was over.
“You’re telling me!” exclaimed Paul.
“What just happened?” Lynn asked.
“We went through the wormhole or portal as I sometimes call it. It is how one travels through to other dimensions.” Barnaby replied as if it were any everyday experience. “It is a much more efficient way to travel, let me tell you. You see, time is parallel rather than linear. That is to say, there is no time. Everything is now.”
At this point, Lynn was just about ready to believe anything. “O.k. if you say so.”

Low sec survival guide. A quick guide for new pilot of Eve
Low sec system is not as much dangerous as some legends in New Eden tell. Pilots who never have been in a below 0.5 sec. status system tend to imagine low security as a place where you have few chance of surviving and where you can lose your ship in few seconds. That’s no true. Low sec is dangerous but if you know how to read the environment, the universe map and how to move in a system, then your risks will be reduced a lot. Knowledge is power. Here you will find a quick guide to live and survive in low sec.
1) LOCAL is your best friend.
First of all a pilot has to take a look at the local. Who is in the system? Which kind of pilots I’m facing? Just take a look at the security status of pilots. Usually a negative sec status pilot is someone used to hunt capsulers.
2) DIRECTIONAL SCANNER
Combine the local information with Dscan and then you can desume in which ships your potential enemies are in. To open Dscan just press Alt-d. On it you can see which ships are around and the name of the ship. You will not see which pilot is in, just the ship type. Second rule is to keep always Dscan opened. Click on "scan button" every few seconds to see which ships are around. Dscan will let u see even if there are combat probes around looking for you. Set “Use active overview setting” so the Dscan will have the same setting of your overview (Better to set on PvP). Set Dscan angle always at 360° and max range (2147483647 km). The max range of Dscan is 14.35 AU. To default is set on max range and max angle. Tip: Is better to rename all your ships deleting your pilot name. Doing that you will not let you know which ship are you in.
3) SAFE SPOT
Safe spots are very important. As soon as you enter in a system and you want to explore you need to use safe spots. Otherwise if u warp at a Planet, Asteroid belts or other common places every skill pilots can find you in few minutes just working with Dscan. He will come to you easly to destroy your ship. When you are at a safe spot the only possible way another pilot can find you is using COMBAT probes. But if you use Dscan then you’ll see the Combat probes around hopefully before they can scan you down. Then, if u see combat probes, just warp away to another safe. Tips: you can use old exploration sites as safe spots.
How to take a Safe spot: just open the window “people and place”, click on “places”, “add location”. Then open the system Map and warp to a planet or a belt. In the middle of the warp click on “Submit”. You will have your safe spot as a bookmark. Is better to warp with the solar system map opened, so you can control your warping and clik where u want to have your safe spot. Usually is better to have more safe spots in a system. You can train to take safe spots in high sec first.
4) SOLAR SYSTEM MAP
To move in the system wisely you need to know how to read the SOLAR SYSTEM MAP. Open the map and check where are the planets, asteroid belts etc. If there are group at a higher distance of 14.35 AU it means with your Dscan you can reach all system and then cover all places when a ship can be. Then, is usefull to take some safe spot close to the group of planets, asteroid belts so u can move from safe spot to safe spot and check which ships are around.
5) GATE CAMPS
To avoid gate camps or unsecure systems first check the route on STAR MAP. Click on “Star map”, “Statistic”, then click on “ship destroyed in the last hour”. Doing that you will have on the map a quick view of the most insecure system on your route. The suggestion is to avoid systems where, in the last hour, has been destroyed many ships (more then two-three).
If you just want to move in low sec and avoid to get stuck in a gate camp then fit on your ship at least two warp core stabilizers. Every warp core stabilizer neutralizes a warp scramble. So it has to be a camp with at least three ships. Another suggestion is to fit in low slot Nanofiber internal structure to improve your agility and then even to align and warp faster. If you jump in a gate and see two or more pirates closed to the gate don’t be panic. You have different choices to stay alive: if you have fitted enough warp core stabilizers and you assume the modules can neutralize the warp scramblers just warp to the next gate or, if u want, warp to a planet, asteroid or station in front of you. In this way you’ll save time aligning and your warp will start faster avoiding some damages. Then you will warp directly to jump in a gate. If you think you can’t avoid to be scrambled you can try to point back the Stargate and opefully have the time to jump before to be destroyed. Much it depends on which ship are you in and how many pirates/enemies are waiting for you. Generally the safest ships in low sec are the fastest ones. (Frigates, destroyers etc.). Of course if you fly a cloaked ship as a Cover operation frigate or a stealth bomber you can easily avoid the camp due to the invisibility.
BECOMING AN HUNTER
This is a second step of living in low sec. First you need to know how to defend yourself, read the environment and then you can begin to use Dscan even to hunt down pilots.
How to do it? Go to a safe spot. Press F11 and you will have a 2d map of the system (very small one). Then work with the angle of dscan and turn the nose of your ship. Turning your ship you will point the dscan in the direction of an asteroid belt, planet, etc. Click on Dscan to check where can be a ship, start with 180° and try to assume in which part of the system is your prey. Then reduce the angle gradually and move the camera. Click again on dscan and try to point the place you assume the ship you are looking for is hiding. Do that, working with camera and dscan angles, until u have the ship on dscan at a small angle: 15-30°. Then you can desume where is the ship. If is necessary you can prepare differente safe spots closed to the asteroid belts. Fly there and going on working with Dscan. It's all a matter of training and logic with angles and places.
The tracking camera way and the DSCAN at 5°- A faster way of hunting is to use the tracking camera option. You need to have a good overview setting (download here the overview of ZEURA) -RIGHT CLICK SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER THE .XML FILE-. That allow you to see where ships are (u can have different tabs for it: PvP, PvE, Hunting, Loot, Drones). Set on Dscan "Use tracking camera" and "Use overview active setting", then set the angle at 5°. Click on an asteroid belt on overview, or a factional warfare site (gallente small compound for instance) or wherever you think your pray may be. The camera will allign in the direction of the celestial. Then just click on scan. You will see who is in that celestial. Repeat the operation as soon as u don't find targets. Good hunting.
