An happy evening with a Vigilant encounter

Here some of our last adventures. A kill of a poor Venture (actually we didn't want to kill him, it was a mistake) and a Vigilant killed by our armor cruiser fleet. Then you'll find some random fight; one against a very tanky Arbitrator tackled by a kiting Tristan and a fight inside a small plex against three T1 frigs.

A day in Placid, frigates fleet -video-

In this video a Zeura frigates fleet. A nice and pacefull evening around Placid.

We tried to hunt a Drake doing a mission, but he warped just 1 second after we landed... was very close. Then a skirmish with a Daredevil that was reacting quickly and disengaging. And at the end we had a fight against Eve Uni.

Welcome in pain!

AeoshiKenshin
A criminal pilot with a Comet entered our system looking for a fight. We noticed from his records he had more than 3000 kills and a good experience in PvP. He bringed with him a Tengu booster alt. We started to undock thinking to engage.

AoshiKenshin > seriously? fucking cowards
AoshiKenshin > cant fight me with a taranis and slicer, have to undock thrasher
AoshiKenshin > lol
AoshiKenshin > faggots

Then I really wanted to try a Daredevil I had for too much time in the hangar so I undocked engaging the Comet. My corpmates were a bit late, moreover that Comet had an interesting fitting, even quite expensive. His neutralizer and his t2 hull rigs helped him to survive enough to kill my Daredevil before the backup arrived.

Then he started to complain:

AoshiKenshin > gf
Mark Yanning > gf
AoshiKenshin > fucking blob
AoshiKenshin > lol
Casius Falco > lol
Casius Falco > What did you expect?
Casius Falco > Let's 1v1 on a station? :) jezus..
AoshiKenshin > I was fine with the 2v1
AoshiKenshin > shit even the 3v1 with the stupid kestrel
AoshiKenshin > But you guys are cowards to the extreme
AoshiKenshin > DD, slicer, vexor and kestrel for one comet
Casius Falco > Don't pull stupid retared shit like this and cry abou tit
AoshiKenshin > And I said DD you retard
AoshiKenshin > Im not crying
AoshiKenshin > im laughing
AoshiKenshin > I came out ahead in a 4v1
AoshiKenshin > you guys are shit
Casius Falco > Whatever makes you happy

Then he came back in a Munimm, sniping at 70-80km outside station. It was clear he wanted some easy kills, suprising some of us outside station, especially the less experienced pilots.

AoshiKenshin > Raaz is new enough he will get curious and undock
AoshiKenshin > then he will die

I undocked a catalyst and he opened fire. Then I redocked. He warped out bouncing to find a better sniping position. I undocked the cloaky Proteus when he was not on grid and I was on scan for only few seconds. He came back outside station... chasing again my corpmates. A friend undocked a sniping Raven. Casius's Raven just locked him keeping him distracted while I was bouncing cloaky trying to land closer to him. I landed at 30km, but he was moving far away so for few minutes the distance was the same. I tried to brake his orbit, and I managed to arrive at 19km, 18, 17, at 16 I dropped cloak. I overheated micro approanching, with scrambler and web overheated I locked and point him in few seconds. (That Proteus can be effective with a scrambler at 16km). Nothing he could do, he was probably too confident and he thought we couldn't catch him at all.

Munimm kill. The fight was one way, and very quick.

AoshiKenshin > haha good work
Casius Falco > Thank you
Casius Falco > I like you for coming back
Mark Yanning > See u
AoshiKenshin > who says im done?

Hunting a Caracal Navy, but... where are the russians?

We noticed a Caracal Navy Issue ratting (pilot Pro100 Nyasha) close to our homebase. It was a quite new pilot, probably PvE fitted. Then one of our tackler landed with him at a belt and pointed him. But he was stabbed and warped off, docking at a station. He had a killright activable, so we wanted her to undock.

Pro100 Nyasha > ublyudok suka
Pro100 Nyasha > Casius Falco  what do you need ?
Casius Falco > you keep shooting my rats
Casius Falco > So go rat somewhere else
Pro100 Nyasha > I dont shoot you ... are you crazy ? )
Mark Yanning > he is the rats lord..
Casius Falco > Those are my rats!
Casius Falco > Go shoot them in another system
Mark Yanning > you can't touch them without pay a fee
Pro100 Nyasha > what ?
Gartrox > Right, and to pay the fee, you must undock
Pro100 Nyasha > ppppfffffffff )))
Pro100 Nyasha > ohhh... guys you are crazy....
Casius Falco > Well. we'll consider not shooting you if you just leave the system

Then he started threating us talking about some strange russians fleet...

Pro100 Nyasha > no I dont leave the sistem !
Pro100 Nyasha > you leave the sistem
Pro100 Nyasha > or all of you will pay me
Pro100 Nyasha > no dialogs whith the terorist !Pro100 Nyasha > wait for my team )))
Pro100 Nyasha > russian guys in coming.... ))) then we will talk )
Pro100 Nyasha > I will pay 500 kk to kill oll of you )
Pro100 Nyasha > they are coming ))))
Casius Falco > Are they close?
Pro100 Nyasha > wayt for a sec... I talk with some russian corparations.... they told me: "we will destroy all of them + oll bases" = ) I will pay 800 000 000
Casius Falco > Wow,
Pro100 Nyasha > yea
Casius Falco > Tell you what, pay us half and we'll leave you be
Pro100 Nyasha > they could do it for free ... but I dont want this... so I will pay... not much but it will fan )
Pro100 Nyasha > We kill you all dont you realy understend what sheet is haping?

Then we were bored and we all left the system. After 5 minutes I was back in that system and she was ratting again. I landed at belt at 55km to her.. but she warped off again and docked. After some minutes of hunting we finally catched that Caracal Navy with a dual point Ares.

Mark Yanning > where are the russians?

Procuer fleet!

After a short roam with frigs around Placid region we tried a PvP Procurer fleet. We formed up 7 Procurer and we warped at an Ice belt. A fleet of 9 Moa, plus some Logi landed on our belt after few minutes. We decided to warp off but unlucky they managed to catch one of our Procurer before the warp.

Procurer killmail

It was anyway good fun. Here some pics.

You want a challenge? Then kill a Dominix in frigs

We were looking for a fight in Uphallant in five frigates when we noticed a Dominix on scan. The pilot was doing a combat site and we easly scanned him down. After have probed him, we sent our Garmur pilot (Lord Fuzzbump) to have a point, but the Dominix left and docked before we had a chance to catch him. We stayed on grid for a while and, after few minutes, we noticed the Dominix back on scan. We warped back at the entrance of the site with a perfect timing and we catched him at gate.

We had a long long fight with that battleship. We had to focus first on his drones; on hobgoblin II, then hammerhead II and Ogre II. Someone of us had to warp off and warp back because was out of cap and unable to rep but after some minutes of fight, the Dominix pilot had to surrender. The last minute he was not repping anymore, probably he gave up. His battleship exploded in a big cloud of fire and debris. And... no looses from our side.

The killmail

It has been a great fight, very challenging. We were not sure to have enough dps to kill him and we were lucky he didn't have Warriors II. We were tracking easly his turrets and we have done a great job shooting his drones. I would say one of the best Zeura operation with an excellent teamwork. This time was not an "hit & run" tactic.

Just to summarize the day: we got a Mackinow just few minutes after the Dominix and his 200m pod.

The 10 Zeura Commandments

Here you will find the Zeura 10 commandments for new pilots.
The rules are not intended to be very strict, but as a general guideline that every pilot should follow.

1) You shall not wear nor encourage another member to wear a red jacket similar or identical to that of Mark Yanning.

2) You shall not travel to low sec without a full understanding of the directional scanner.

3) You shall not fly a ship that you cannot fly efficiently.  (Level 2 Gallente Cruiser =/= Efficient)

4) You shall not move an expensive/important ship through lowsec/nullsec without a scout.

5) You shall not start to PvP in a battleship.  Start small with a frigate first as every ship class requires the same basic piloting skills.

6) You shall focus your training at first, on few ships of the same race

7) You shall respect aid and trust every Zeura pilot.  Such is expected, and shall be given in retun

8) You shall not talk in local and you shall not share Intel in public channels.

9)  You shall always control killboard before an engagment. More info you have about your enemy more chance you have to win the fight

10) You shall follow the FC's orders, no matter the situation.

Rifter fleet

Sunday evening Redemption Roads (Roams) group organized a nice Rifter fleet, based on Star Wars theme, that started from Berta. The Fw was Onslaughtor, he commanded a Rifter-Wolf-Jaguar fleet of around 25-30 pilos through Null sec and back in low.

We met many bomber that tried to drop bombs on us (first time for me to see bombs on overview), we avoided bombs just jumping in, before they exploded.

The best fight we had was against a smartbombing Rokh. I managed to get out of smartbombs range just in time, with the structure at 30% after the good call of the Fc that suggested to orbit him at 10km. In that fight we didn't loose any Rifter.

Fc old friend Onslaughtor was doing a great job in the 3 hours fleet. We had some nice kills and my little poor Rifter is still alive. Here some pics of the night.

We didn't loose any Rifter in this fight

Focus fire, a vital pratice in fleet

Yersteday night we went out in a small fleet of three pilots: a 270 dps Incursus, a Rifter and another standard Incursus, very tanky. We moved in a Fw area and in few minutes we killed two T1 ships, a Tristan and an Incursus, both fitted for PvP. In Agoze we spotted a Comet in a novice outpost and an Incursus in a small. To point the Navy Comet we first sent the tanky Incursus. Our Incursus engaged the target inside the plex when we were already in warp to join the fight. At the novice outpost gate we saw two Incursus landing, just after us. The Fc was calling: "activate the gate, ignore the two Incursus. Primary is the Comet". Rifter and the "dps" Incursus killed the Comet in few seconds, then the Fc was calling: "Anemophis I Incursus is primary", "Anemophis I Incursus is primary".

Our tanky Incursus went down. We still were two against two and unfortunatly the rifter pilot was not following the FC call. He was shooting the wrong Incursus. An Incurus fitted with 2 reps can tank a lot, so with a split fire, they both were managing to tank easly. They focused on our rifter, that went down after few seconds. The Fc on the dps Incursus managed to disengage after a quick reaction and a lot of luck. Afterward, analyzing the fight, it was clear that we could have a good chance to kill both the Incursus, of course if we were focusing fire.

The art of war in Eve, Sun Tzu

Pilots, capsulers, explorers. New Eden is in the future but to became a better pilot we need to look at the past. Sun Tzu was a chinese military general, a strategist and philosopher. Sun Tzu's principles can be perfectly applied in Eve PvP.  We have learned from that and we will go on growing from our mistakes. Fly with us, join Zeura!

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

When a fight ended in flames

We are still enjoying quite a lot our frigate-destroyer fleets, first because is fun and then because our new pilots can make a lot of experience in that. It's a simple doctrine: we try to kill as much as we can, focusing even on solo cruisers that are ratting or hanging around. We fight in low sec, inside plexes and at asteroid belts. Our main advantage is speed and agility and moving as a single pilot we can still add a good amount of dps. If things go wrong, we can still try to disengage.

Often we use a scout/tackler that will make the move first. The scout tackler is even the one that is more in danger because he has to tank enemies until the fleet will join the fight. Is all a matter of timing. The best thing that can happen is to survive with little hull left, this usually lead in a scream of joy for the scout-tackler and all the fleet. Then during the loot of the enemies cargo, usually all pilots comment and admire the flames emerged by the damaged, but still alive, scout ship.

After a fight.. scout-tackler Incursus (pilot Mark Yanning). Ship in flames. Some modules were overheated... :)
